Julia Fernandez-Pol is a young artist who has completed a production residency in the ´ace workshops. Born and raised in the United States but to Argentine parents, Julia is familiar with our language and culture. She is also a jewelry designer. Thus, his interest in jewelry, sculpture and painting are reflected in the result and process of his work.

In her work Julia demonstrates a fascination for visual impact creations where color and beauty are overwhelmingly displayed. She is a prolific and daring artist, who does not hesitate to research and use different materials and appeal to excess, abundance and opulence for the construction of her work.

During their residency at ´ace they find in a series of images driven by the interest to create a world inspired by the organic and dynamic forms that are universally found in nature.

The result of the residency was a series of large monotypes printed with solvent and water inks on silk papers and fabrics. We also have stones, glass, fine cotton threads and colored wires.

As an installation Julia displays part of the immense production carried out during her SUB30 residency in the Polyglot Hall. Of great visual and sensorial impact it exhibits its monotypes -printed on paper and silk fabrics- in dialogue with hanging sculptures of wire threads and stones and with the shadows that they generate.

The artist is inspired by patterns, structures and organic forms found in nature, which presents her with an infinite number of fundamental elements in her work.

Play with the color, brightness and opacity provided by the various materials he worked with. In his work, he uses excess and opulence through shapes and textures to explore the impact and sensory experiences that it produces.

Creator of abstract landscapes of micro-macroscopic scale that develop organically and harmonically based on the ideas of circularity, regeneration, accumulation and decay.

The Latin America's Paris

Buenos Aires is Argentine Republic's capital city. With 15,000,000 inhabitants, it is one of the largest cities in Latin America and one of the 10 most populous urban centers in the world. Its cosmopolitan and urban character vibrates to the rhythm of a great cultural offer that includes monuments, churches, museums, art galleries, opera, music and theaters; squares, parks and gardens with old groves; characteristic neighborhoods; large shopping centers and fairs. Here we also find a very good lodging facilities, with accommodation ranging from hostels to five-star hotels of the main international chains. Buenos Aires also show off about its variety of restaurants with all the cuisines of the world, as well as to have cafes and flower kiosks on every corner.

A neighborhood founded on the Jesuit farms in the 17th century

We are located in Colegiales neighborhood where the tree-lined streets, some of which still have their original cobblestones, invite you to walk. Although the apartment buildings advance, low houses still predominate. It is a district of the city where about 20 TV production companies, design studios, artist workshops and the Rock&Pop radio have been located. The neighborhood also has six squares, one of which pays homage to Mafalda, the Flea Market, shops, restaurants and cafes like its neighboring Barrios de Palermo and Belgrano, with which it limits.
