Cecilia Luque
#Futuro

27.05.21 08.07.21

Born in Córdoba, Argentina. Cecilia is a engraver and researcher in new tools and methods. She was trained at the Dr. Figueroa Alcorta Superior School of Fine Arts. She is currently in charge of the Chair of Engraving III of the Tecnicatura in said Institution. My production line from 1991 onwards, I always worked and developed a lot with themes related to biology, genetics, nature; that appear in a variety of techniques, formats and spaces according to the search that draws the viewer. From 2013 onwards, I found myself with a deep need: that my production on the ground was contemplative, interactive bell. You can have it with each other, with each other. From this premise, I started to generate platforms for the spectator to be an actor, because he could leave his hello and there he felt part of the work.

ARTIST´S STATEMENT

“Sea of many” With stitches warm and one, hurt and heal in the ritual of bonding-reuniting with the other, and from the fraternal re-consolidate the warp into an indivisible whole of the social fabric. In this work of aesthetics in white, multiple in senses, typical of the works originated by many, I appeal-I resort to sewing as an act of resistance to division, to individuality, to whoever can save himself. In this Sea, I propose a rescue measure, and that is: “all together”.

“Castaway” How many times are we about to be shipwrecked, in thoughts, in words, in attitudes, in life itself? What do we have or acknowledge having in common with these little cork bodies? Is it the need to stay afloat, as the only possibility to follow the course of our lives? Sometimes with full control of it, and others in need of a little push or a careful hand to protect us? Rescue us.

ABOUT FUTURE

#FUTURO was the possibility to think about one’s own production and with others, from a very abstract, difficult concept, but at the same time very seductive and hopeful. . Challenging my personal production and group production dynamics. Both concluded with great satisfaction, considering that they are focus in exercises, not thinking this as a final work, importance is the process. Collaborative teamwork always adds and enriches, also in these times we are closed in on our homes and in our individual productions. The different viewpoints of the groups generated from the same concept, working with a variety of aesthetics, techniques, languages and their intersections makes Futuro an enriching and motivating experience.

The Latin America's Paris

Buenos Aires is Argentine Republic's capital city. With 15,000,000 inhabitants, it is one of the largest cities in Latin America and one of the 10 most populous urban centers in the world. Its cosmopolitan and urban character vibrates to the rhythm of a great cultural offer that includes monuments, churches, museums, art galleries, opera, music and theaters; squares, parks and gardens with old groves; characteristic neighborhoods; large shopping centers and fairs. Here we also find a very good lodging facilities, with accommodation ranging from hostels to five-star hotels of the main international chains. Buenos Aires also show off about its variety of restaurants with all the cuisines of the world, as well as to have cafes and flower kiosks on every corner.

A neighborhood founded on the Jesuit farms in the 17th century

We are located in Colegiales neighborhood where the tree-lined streets, some of which still have their original cobblestones, invite you to walk. Although the apartment buildings advance, low houses still predominate. It is a district of the city where about 20 TV production companies, design studios, artist workshops and the Rock&Pop radio have been located. The neighborhood also has six squares, one of which pays homage to Mafalda, the Flea Market, shops, restaurants and cafes like its neighboring Barrios de Palermo and Belgrano, with which it limits.
