In a new open studio instance presented within the November 20th ´aceNITE, Sion Webb presented his work Siempreverde (Evergreen) in The Tower at ´ace‘s studio, a project that he carried out throughout his Exploration Residency at ´ace.

ARTIST STATEMENT

Sion’s work has to do with the discordant spaces derived from the wandering through capital cities and the memory of their past green and coastal serenities. He explores silenced sites of construction and clandestine regions of the city, even the high-level structures that, perhaps, are located for the elite to look down (both literally and metaphorically) to the population. He combines the emotion that these places emit with memories and landscapes of his upbringing, and the feeling of disconnection that he encounters since he moved to a large city.
