Constelaciones fellowship
´ace (CABA)-Poliniza (Córdoba)

08.04.24 13.05.24

We are pleased to announce that in 2024, ´ace will once again participate in the Constelaciones programme by QUINCHO | Argentinean Network of Artistic Residencies -of which we are founding members-. This programme offers residency grants to artists from Argentina or foreign artists living legally in Argentina and, this year, also to Spanish artists. In the 2024 edition, ´ace will work in “constellation” with the Poliniza Estudio Residency located in a natural context in Rio Ceballos, Córdoba, Argentina.

ABOUT CONSTELACIONES

Constelaciones 2024 offers a grant for a one-month residency in two artistic residencies in Argentina, members of Red QUINCHO. It is aimed at artists, researchers and curators of all disciplines.

Constelaciones is a programme organised by Red Quincho as an opportunity for artists and curators from all over the country to participate in residencies and generate mobility in our scenes. It is carried out with the aim of working collaboratively, fostering dialogue between the network’s projects and linking different regions. This is a programme of circulation where the residents will be articulating agents between the residency spaces  that host them, the communities in which they are inserted and the diverse territories in which they re-locate.

Twenty-eight residencies from all over the country are participating in this programme, who have grouped themselves in pairs, or “constellations”. These constellations respect the singularity and particularity of each of the residencies that make up the network, while at the same time presenting a variety of formats, facilities and territories. In this way, the exchange between the network’s spaces with different characteristics and contexts is encouraged, while each fellowship holder is offered two spaces with different and complementary characteristics to carry out their residency. In this way, the aim is to generate instances of collaboration between the residencies of the constellation and the residents, strengthening the network and its practices.

This grant is developed in partnership with Fundación Williams, plus the support of the Centro Cultural de España en Buenos Aires (CCEBA) and Fundación Santander through the Régimen de Promoción Cultural del Gobierno de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires (Cultural Promotion Regime of the Government of the City of Buenos Aires).

CONSTELACIONES 2024
Poliniza (Córdoba) : October 7th to 20th +
´ace (Ciudad de Buenos Aires): October 21st to November 8th
Public presentation: November 6th

This duo offers the opportunity to live and create in contrasting environments: first, in the natural landscape of Río Ceballos (Poliniza, Córdoba) and then in the metropolis of Buenos Aires (´ace), promoting a sensitive appreciation of the different contexts. With an affective approach to the territory and artistic production, the residency contains instances of research and production. Artists and researchers from all disciplines are invited to explore and respond to cultural, social, environmental and/or urban impact, culminating in a public presentation and/or exhibition of the work developed during the residency period at ´ace.

The selected participant will develop a 4-week residency project, 15 days in each residency. The final week (5th week) will be devoted to the assembly of the presentation. They will have an economic support of ARS $350.0000 for mobility and travel expenses, as well as participation in the chosen programme with accommodation + accompaniment + particularities of materials and equipment of each residency. Participants from Spain will also receive airfare Spain-Argentina-Spain. In addition, the programme provides special support for the residency coordinators to meet with the residents in a face-to-face working session.

The Latin America's Paris

Buenos Aires is Argentine Republic's capital city. With 15,000,000 inhabitants, it is one of the largest cities in Latin America and one of the 10 most populous urban centers in the world. Its cosmopolitan and urban character vibrates to the rhythm of a great cultural offer that includes monuments, churches, museums, art galleries, opera, music and theaters; squares, parks and gardens with old groves; characteristic neighborhoods; large shopping centers and fairs. Here we also find a very good lodging facilities, with accommodation ranging from hostels to five-star hotels of the main international chains. Buenos Aires also show off about its variety of restaurants with all the cuisines of the world, as well as to have cafes and flower kiosks on every corner.

A neighborhood founded on the Jesuit farms in the 17th century

We are located in Colegiales neighborhood where the tree-lined streets, some of which still have their original cobblestones, invite you to walk. Although the apartment buildings advance, low houses still predominate. It is a district of the city where about 20 TV production companies, design studios, artist workshops and the Rock&Pop radio have been located. The neighborhood also has six squares, one of which pays homage to Mafalda, the Flea Market, shops, restaurants and cafes like its neighboring Barrios de Palermo and Belgrano, with which it limits.
